Welcome

As a former ad agency owner and writer for over 20 years, I can say with conviction how important good writing is and how difficult it can be to find. Although I was fortunate not to be dependant on other writers most of the time, I remember the frustration when the need arose. After a short hiatus from advertising and a taste of restaurant ownership (and I thought advertising was nuts!) I’m back in a freelance capacity hawking my skills to you and, hopefully, a few others.

So, why me? If asked to pick one thing, I’d go with experience. Not just the writing experience, which spans 25 years and an expansive range of business categories local to national in scope, but the agency ownership experience as well. It helps me know what will make your life easier and what clients expect. In short, I’m low maintenance. I frequently worked with clients who gave very little input or direction. Strong, smart direction is preferred, but you won’t have to spoon-feed me. Finally, I won’t waste your time. If I’m not comfortable with the project, I’ll pass.

I possess strong concept ability based on strategic thinking, the ability to write incisive, breakthrough copy for all media even radio and I believe I excel at tag lines and positioning statements. I know how to use humor without blurring the message. Oh yea, I still believe what David Ogilvy said. “You need to sell something.”

At this point I’ll invite you to check out my past work. Some of it award winning, all of it, I believe, targeted, interesting and motivational. And to alleviate any concern about “rust” from the hiatus, there’s a first time “no use no pay policy”. I don’t think you’ll need it. Thanks for visiting. Let’s do some great work.

There is nothing to writing.  All you do is sit down at a typewriter and open a vein.
